The Dinner with Alumni program brings students and alumni together
through a series of dinners scheduled during the school year. These
dinners are great career networking opportunities for students to
interact with current experts in the field and will fill up fast! You must register in order to attend.

Washington or outside the Beltway, then this dinner is for you. Meet
an AU Alum who has been in your shoes and has now succeeded in doing

Christy Gleason (SPA/BA '93) graduated from American University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in International Studies (Foreign Policy) in 1993. Christy made the most of her time at AU, working part-time in the University Library, interning in the House of Representatives, studying abroad in Brussels, and completing two independent research projects focused on equality in the military.
She attended St. John’s University School of Law at night, where she served as managing editor of the St. John’s Law Review, and earned her J.D. in 1998. Christy worked in local and state government, as well as campaigns and partisan politics in Delaware and New Jersey.
After successfully managing Senator Chris Coons’ winning campaign in 2010, she joined his Senate staff as Senior Policy Advisor. Christy works in DC and Delaware advising Senator Coons on a wide variety of topics including foreign policy, labor, appropriations, housing, community development, and equality issues. She also advises the Senator on Africa policy in conjunction with the Senator’s service as chair of the African Affairs Subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Christy lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with her husband, Dmitry Pilipis.
