The Dinner with Alumni program brings students and alumni together through a series of dinners scheduled during the school year. These dinners are great career networking opportunities for students to interact with current experts in the field and will fill up fast!

You must register in order to attend.


If you are interested in the association management and education career fields, then this dinner is for you.  Meet a AU alumni who have been in your shoes and have now succeeded in doing what you aspire to do.  Come join Jolene and Jolon McNeil for dinner and a great networking event. This event is for current student only and is free to attend.

Jolene McNeil, SPA/BA ’97, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Since graduating, Jolene has served as Meetings and Membership Assistant for the General Federation of Women’s Club, Conference Planner for the Child Welfare League of America, Program/Meeting Planner for the Drug Information Association, and Meeting Manager for Fernley & Fernley. Currently, she is the Associate Director for Meetings and Conventions at the American Psychiatric Association. During her time at AU, Jolene was an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and President of the Black Student Alliance.  She served on the reunion committee for her class reunion last year, and she currently serves as the chair of AU’s Black Alumni Alliance as well as an Alumni Admissions Volunteer. As chair of the Black Alumni Alliance, she is determined to create more opportunities for alumni to reconnect with AU and is excited about the numerous opportunities available to connect alumni with current students.

Jolon McNeil, CAS/BA ’98 is the Managing Director for the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana. In her role, Jolon is responsible for program oversight, strategic planning, office management and human resources. Dedicated to civic engagement and community service, Jolon has served on the Boards of 2 charter schools in New Orleans and the Board of an Arts education program in North Carolina.  As a undergraduate at AU, she was active in the Black Student Alliance and in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  Jolon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from AU and a Master’s in Education degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a member of the AU Black Alumni Alliance and an AU Admissions Volunteer.
