Dinner with Alumni: Derek Gianino
The Dinner with Alumni program brings students and alumni together through a series of dinners scheduled during the school year. These dinners are great career networking opportunities for students to interact with current experts in the field and will fill up fast!
You must register in order to attend.
If you are interested in the political campaign/grassroots/issue advocacy career field, then this dinner is for you. Meet an AU Alum who has been in your shoes and has now succeeded in doing what you aspire to do. Come join Derek Gianino for dinner and a great networking event
Derek Gianino SPA/MPP '11
graduated from American University in 2011 with a Masters in Public Policy. He previously attended Kalamazoo College where he earned a BA in Political Science, Economics and Public Policy. Derek is currently employed as the National Outreach Director for the U.S Global Leadership Coalition spearheading the USGLC’s efforts working with business, community, and faith leaders across the country on the importance of America’s engagement in the world. Most recently he served as the Deputy National Coalitions Director for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, overseeing national outreach efforts to veterans, sportsmen, and farmers. Previously he was at Howard Consulting Group and served as Deputy Field Manager at DDC Advocacy. Derek has been honored with the Eugene P. Stermer Award in Public Administration and nationally recognized as a leader in building coalitions.
