Los Angeles Reception and Book Signing with Linda Daly, CAS/BA '90

Please join fellow AU alumni and friends at the Petite Ermitage for a cocktail reception and book reading with Los Angeles native and AU Alumna, Linda Daly, CAS/BA '90.  Part of the Literature Department’s Visiting Writers Series at AU, Linda will discuss her new book, The Last Pilgrimage, about the life and death of her mother, Nancy Daly Riordan. Books will be available for sale and signing.

About the Book:
Linda Daly had a seemingly charmed life: her mother Nancy was married to the head of Warner Bros, and her parents were one of the most influential and prominent couples in Los Angeles. Even their divorce couldn’t test the bond between mother and daughter, and their family grew: her mother married Dick Riordan, mayor of L.A.; her father married songwriter Carole Bayer Sager. The extended family used their combined resources to help a number of cultural and philanthropic concerns across the country until they encountered the one thing they could not overcome: Nancy’s diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer.

About Linda Daly:
Linda is a 1990 AU graduate of the literature department. She is a Master Gardener and philanthropist committed to fighting hunger by changing the way the world feeds itself. She presents workshops and provides information to help under-served communities grow their own food. Linda lives in Southern California with her husband and two children.
