Join us for American Women, a special lecture series highlighting the
inspirational women of American University. The first event in the
series features
Anita McBride, executive in residence at AU's Center for
Congressional and Presidential Studies in the School of Public Affairs, with "Partners in the
Presidency: The Legacies of America's First Ladies." Moderated by
award-winning journalist and AU professor
Iris Krasnow, this
presentation will be followed by a dessert and coffee networking
reception.
Anita McBride is the former chief of staff for First Lady Laura Bush. McBride will talk about how America's First Ladies have played an influential role in American politics, domestic policy, and global diplomacy. From Martha Washington to Michelle Obama, each woman who shared this unique experience has served alongside the President as policy advisor, diplomat, hostess, trusted confidant, and national role model.
Cost to attend is $20 for alumni, parents, and friends. No
cost for AU faculty, staff, and students.
