Alumni in the KNOW
, incorporates a unique opportunity to explore the professional paths of AU's decorated and accomplished alumni, stimulates career development interest in future alumni, and connects prominent alumni with the AU community.
The first speaker of the semester will be
Lori George Billingsley, SOC/MA ’91, Vice President of Community Relations for Coca-Cola Refreshments
. This event will include a seated luncheon, lecture-style presentation, question-and-answer period, and a meet and greet reception.
Billingsley is the Vice President of Community Relations for Coca-Cola Refreshments where she manages community giving and engagement in North America. Since her time at AU, Billingsley has served in numerous roles within the Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) department of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), including Director of Community and Multicultural Communications and Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Coca-Cola North America PAC. Prior to her distinguished career with TCCC, Billingsley owned her own public relations and communications solutions consulting firm, LG Communications. She was also a vice president at Porter/Novelli, a leading public relations firm.
Billingsley received her Master of Arts in public communications from AU in 1991. She received her Bachelor of Arts in public relations at Howard University in 1986.
Cost to attend is $10 for alumni, parents, and friends. There is no charge for current AU students, faculty, and staff. Business casual attire requested.
