James Callan, SPA/BA '81, has more than 20 years of work experience in Washington, D.C. covering a broad range of policy issues. He has worked in senior management in both the private and public sector on issues surrounding economic growth and development, government relations, and communications efforts on agriculture, food, energy, the environment, financial services, and international trade. Mr. Callan is a registered lobbyist before Congress, and a speaker to domestic and international audiences regarding the U.S. Farm Bill and Federal crop insurance. Currently, he is CEO & Founder of James Callan Associates, a lobbying and consulting firm, and a Partner in NorthStar Policy Navigation, a Washington, D.C., area government relations and association management company. Mr. Callan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C., did graduate coursework at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed executive training programs.
