Our Paris chapter seeks to rekindle some of that Eagle spirit in its members. Recent events include visits from Kogod School of Business Dean Michael Ginzberg and School of International Service Professor Nanette Levinson, a chocolate tasting workshop, and a visit with U.S. Ambassador to France, The Honorable Charles Rivkin.

Ron Oman, SIS/MA ’02


Ashley Santner, SPA/BA '05



Having spent a semester as an undergraduate in Aix en Provence, Ronald Oman, SIS/MA ’02, had always wanted to return to work and live in France.  While completing an MA in International Communication at American University, Ron was the first AU student to participate in an exchange with the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris in 2002. In 2010, he joined The Private Bank at J.P. Morgan as Head of Investments Marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Ron enjoys traveling in Europe and beyond, wines, tennis and entertaining friends in Paris, the most amazing city in the world.



Ashley Santner, SPA/BA ‘05, first fell in love with Paris when she studied at the Sorbonne through AU Abroad her junior year.  The AU culture of being a truly global citizen inspired her to return to France to finish law school.  Now a U.S and French attorney, Ashley practices international environmental law and looks forward to meeting more AU alumni who adopt the City of Light as their home.
