Amy Weiss, SOC/BA '87, CEO of Weiss Public Affairs, is a 1987 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism and a minor in Political Science. Since graduating, she has served as a successful communications professional in the highest levels of government, corporate and non-profit sectors. Weiss’s career has included top positions such as White House Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary to President Bill Clinton. In January 2006, she co-founded Point Blank Public Affairs. Before starting Point Blank, she was Vice President of Public Affairs for the United Nations Foundation (UNF) and Executive Director of its lobbying arm, the Better World Campaign (BWC). She serves on the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, American University’s Alumni Board, and on the Advisory Board of Project Avary, a Northern California-based organization dedicated to supporting children and youth whose parents are incarcerated.
